Soft Toys with Different Textures

I always recommend having a few soft toys with a variety of textures for your puppy. Different fabrics and textures provide great sensory enrichment, helping puppies explore their world, build confidence, and satisfy their natural curiosity.

Soft toys are gentle on developing teeth and are perfect for carrying, cuddling, and interactive play. Rotating a few different textured toys also helps keep your puppy interested and engaged while encouraging healthy, appropriate play.

Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy

This is the puppy training book I recommend to every one of my puppy families. It offers a simple, positive approach to raising a well-mannered, confident puppy and is easy to follow, even for first-time dog owners.

The book covers everything from potty training and crate training to biting, chewing, jumping, socialization, and building good manners. I especially appreciate that it focuses on setting puppies up for success through consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement.

While there are many great training resources available, this is the book I recommend as a solid foundation for the first year with your puppy. Reading it before your puppy comes home will help you feel prepared and confident from day one.

Snuggle Puppy

The first few nights away from their littermates can be a big adjustment for a puppy. A snuggle puppy provides warmth and comfort, and its optional heartbeat feature helps mimic the feeling of sleeping beside their littermates. Most puppies settle more quickly, cry less at bedtime, and sleep more soundly with this added comfort. While it’s not a necessity, it’s one of my favorite recommendations for helping make those first nights a little easier for both you and your new puppy.

30” Crate with Divider

I reconnebd starting with a 30’ crate that includes a divider panel. The divider lets you adjust the space as your puppy grows, giving them just enough room to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably. Starting with a crate that is too large often leads to potty accidents, as puppies may use one end for sleeping and the other as a bathroom.
