~~ A Calm, Confident Start~~
Before Puppy Comes Home
working on “stay” 10 weeks
Bringing a new puppy home is exciting—and overwhelming.
Our Puppy Foundation Program is an optional 3 week extension with the breeder designed to give puppies a smoother transition and families a stronger start.
This program allows your puppy extra time with us during a crucial developmental stage. During this time we gently introduce structure, confidence-building, and early manners.
What is the Puppy Foundation Program?
The Puppy Foundation Program is a breeder-led, age-appropriate start that focuses on preparation, not perfection.
Puppies remain with us for an additional 3 weeks, continuing their routine while learning the foundations that make life easier once they join your family.
What Your Puppy Will Learn
Each puppy progresses at their own pace, with emphasis on confidence and calm:
Crate introduction and relaxed settling
Name recognition and engagement
Gentle leash exposure
Basic manners (jumping, mouth awareness)
Sound, surface and environment exposure
Early potty routine shaping
Calm transitions and independence
This program is about creating well-started puppies, not rushed training.
What Families Love Most
Fewer sleepless nights
Less overwhelm during the first month
A puppy who settles more easily
Confidence for first-time puppy owners
A smoother transition into family life
Many families tell us the first week at home feels surprisingly manageable
mealtimes are used for reinforcing good manners
calm, independent behavior is encouraged through lots of access to toys and chews
While raising puppies from birth is at the heart of what I do, my true passion lies in thoughtful, intentional dog training.

Puppy Foundation Program
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this program required?
No. The Puppy Foundation Program is completely optional. It’s available for families who would like a little extra support and preparation before their puppy comes home.
Why do puppies stay longer with the breeder?
The additional 3 weeks allows puppies to remain in a familiar environment while being gently introduced to routine, confidence—building, and early manners. This timing often helps make transition to a new home feel smoother and less overwhelming.
Will this affect bonding with our puppy?
Bonding is not negatively affected.
Many families find bonding comes easily because their puppy arrives calmer and better able to settle. A puppy who feels secure and confident is often more open to connection and learning in their new home.
What kind of training is included?
All training is age-appropriate and focused on foundations rather than formal obedience. The goal is to support confidence, routine, and good habits — not to rush or pressure young puppies.
Will my puppy be fully trained when they come home?
No. Puppies are still very young at this stage.
The program is meant to give your puppy a strong start, not to replace ongoing training. Families continue building on these foundations once their puppy is home.
How will we know how our puppy is doing during the program?
We provide regular photo and video updates, along with brief progress reports. At pickup, families also receive a simple overview of routines and cues used so the transition home is easier.
Is this program right for every family?
This program works well for families who want a bit more preparation before bringing their puppy home, especially first-time puppy owners or those with busy households.
Participation depends on availability and what is best for each puppy.
How many spots are available?
We offer two spots per litter so each puppy receives individual attention and care.
How do we reserve a spot?
If you are interested, please let us know when reserving your puppy or reach out to ask about availability for your litter.
How is pricing structured for the Puppy Foundation Program?
Pricing reflects the additional time, individualized care, and hands-on foundation work your puppy receives during the program. It is offered as a flat program fee rather than hourly training and covers the full 3 week period.
